Director, Operations and Strategy at Veritiv, Inc Dec 2016  - Oct 2019 Atlanta, GA, USA

Held profit and loss (P&L) ownership of $135,000,000 freight brokerage business. Managed five teams with 200 reports and 18 direct reports Focused on Veritiv Logistics Solutions (VLS) business as well as equipment service business. Assisted with development of strategy for print business.

• Drove profitability of freight brokerage business from ($400,000) in 2017 to +$4,500,000 and second highest EBITDA margin in company. Achieved YoY EBITDA increase for 1H2019 of 20%. 

• Implemented new process for A/R collections in freight brokerage business that increased percentage of A/R current by 2,000 basis points in five months.

• Implemented 8% rate increase for $35,000,000 packaging equipment service business. Held P&L ownership of business in 2018 and direct management of 95 team members Rationalized 3PL warehousing customers and implemented price increases to improve average net margin to 40%

• Developed strategy to support launch of new services business unit of five businesses, 400 staff, and $450,000,000 in revenue Responsibilities included supporting the development of the new organization through key process definition and role development. Created standard practices to support commercial bidding activities to ensure profitability targets were achieved. 

• Developed and implemented turnaround plan for freight brokerage business that improved performance from projected loss of$2,000,000 to $400,000 in six months Created strategy for services business unit, focusing on market size, competitor set, customer requirements, and business value propositions.

• Transformed cost structure of €3,000,000,000 global medical device company, resulting in three years savings of €140,000,000. Led overall program, including work streams on sales operations, organizational change and headcount reduction, procurement, and manufacturing network design. 

• Reduced total operating costs at $3,000,000,000 wholesale automotive client's auction sites 20% per site. Focused initiatives on improving primary auction operations (vehicle inspection, re-conditioning, auction day operations) and back office support functions.
